Unless you’re a sneakerhead, you might have missed the news last week that New York-based design company MSCHF had collaborated with entertainer Lil Nas X to produce something called the “Satan Shoe.”

According to the website where the shoes were sold, the limited run of 666 pairs of black Nike Air Max 97 sneakers features satanic-themed detailing including a bronze pentagram on the laces and red embroidered reference to Luke 10:18. (He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.)
