The sign on Judge David Tatel's desk says to ask him about his dog. So, when I interviewed him this week for an upcoming episode of the Legal Speak podcast, I took the bait.

Tatel, who retired from his seat on the D.C. Circuit earlier this year, was paired with Vixen, a German shepherd trained at Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, in 2019, when the judge was 77 years old. Vixen plays a major role in Tatel's book released earlier this year, "Vision: A Memoir of Blindness and Justice."
