Diamond Foods Inc. got some rare good news in its ongoing attempt to recover from an accounting scandal that helped derail a $2.35 billion deal to purchase Pringles.

On Tuesday U.S. District Judge William Alsup of San Francisco dismissed a shareholder derivative suit against a number of Diamond’s current and former officers and directors, who were represented by Fenwick & West.
