SAN FRANCISCO — Arista Networks has enlisted a Latham & Watkins defense team to fight a contentious legal battle instigated by the company’s own cofounder.

Latham partner Douglas Lumish, of the firm’s Menlo Park office, will defend the Santa Clara-based cloud networking company against allegations of trade secret theft. Lumish replaces Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati partner Colleen Bal, according to a filing submitted late last month. Wilson chairman Larry Sonsini and partners Raj Judge and Mark Baudler represented Arista in its June initial pubic offering.
