Workers injured while supporting the U.S. war effort in Iraq and Afghanistan suffered a courtroom defeat this week, when the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit stamped out a proposed $2 billion class action against their employers and insurers.
The court’s ruling, issued Tuesday, mostly affirms a lower court win for a group of defendants that includes American International Group Inc., Halliburton Corp. and Continental Insurance Co. Richard Doren of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, who represents AIG, argued for the defendants at the D.C Circuit.
