Dentons’ work for erstwhile client RevoLaze LLC has already seen it kicked off patent litigation at the U.S. International Trade Commission in a ruling that raised questions about the firm’s ever-expanding global structure. Now, RevoLaze is lashing back with a malpractice lawsuit, seeking more than $50 million from Dentons in Ohio state court.

Represented by Jefferey Katz and Thomas Patterson of Chicago’s Patterson Law Firm, RevoLaze alleges in an April 4 complaint that Dentons ignored a conflict of interest that led to its disqualification in the ITC case, leaving RevoLaze to find new lawyers late in the game and forcing the company to settle for less than it would have otherwise.
