September saw more than its share of big-time lateral moves. Those of you not living under a rock already know that Supreme Court superstar Paul Clement plus Viet Dinh and the rest of 17-lawyer Bancroft merged with Kirkland & Ellis.

But Clement wasn’t the only Supreme Court lion to make an unexpected move in September. Former SG Donald Verrilli is one of several exiting Obama administration lawyers to be snapped up by firms looking to bolster their credentials or put a practice area on the map. Also in demand: International litigators, as firms cite more demand for experts in arbitration and global dispute resolution.
