Hamish Hume was swimming in a world of jargon. The Boies, Schiller & Flexner partner needed to be able to lay out before a judge just how the U.S. Army broke the law by not considering his client, Palantir Technologies Inc., in a $206 million contract for a major upgrade to its intelligence systems. And the mishmash of terms like “data fusion” and “data management platform” wasn’t helping.
“I learned a ton about software,” said Hume, who is based in Washington. “But I said to my client, ‘We’ve got to explain that in a simple way.’”
