Creighton University School of Law has named Paul McGreal as its next dean. Now dean of the University of Dayton School of Law, he will assume the top position at the Omaha law school in July.

“Dean McGreal has had a brilliant career as an administrator and legal educator and in private practice,” University Provost Edward O'Connor said in a written statement. “We are excited he has chosen to continue his excellent work here at Creighton.”

McGreal has led the University of Dayton's law school since 2011, and announced in July that he would step down to return to teaching at the end of the academic year. Administrators at Dayton credited McGreal with helping to improve the school's bar-passage rate; meeting enrollment and student quality targets; and improving the curriculum and starting an intellectual property and entrepreneurship clinic.
