Pace Law School hopes to lure applicants from around the country with a unique offer: Attend the private school in White Plains, N.Y., for the same amount they would pay at a home-state public law school.

Pace now charges $45,376 in tuition, but a qualified student from Texas, for example, would pay the $33,162 in-state tuition charged by public schools there—a savings of more than $12,000 a year.

Pace administrators said the program was designed to eliminate the high costs of living and studying in the New York City area.
