Students at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law will be allowed to delay one final exam if they provide legal support for protesters in Baltimore.

Dean Shelley Broderick on Wednesday afternoon informed students of the policy, which lets them postpone one test until May 11 with advance permission.

Since Monday, Baltimore has been rocked by protests and riots over the death of Freddie Gray, who died of spinal injuries on April 19 while in police custody. Officers reportedly waited 45 minutes to seek medical assistance.
