The University of Montana School of Law will soon be renamed the Alexander Blewett III School of Law at the University of Montana.

Alumnus Alexander Blewett and his wife, Andrea, have pledged $10 million to the law school—among the largest individual gifts in the university's history. The university's regents approved the name change on May 22. A renaming ceremony is planned for September.

“The Blewetts' gift will create a program we believe will be unique in the nation,” said interim dean Greg Munro. “Moreover, at a time when student debt is increasing nationwide, [the Blewetts] are putting law school within reach of more students.”
