The Seyfarth Shaw partner in Washington who's suing celebrity chefs José Andrés and Geoffrey Zakarian on behalf of a Donald Trump hotel development is a veteran commercial litigator who's accustomed to multimillion-dollar court fights.

Rebecca Woods specializes in contract disputes that involve real estate, construction and financial institutions. She's even previously led a suit against another famous chef. Seyfarth lawyers have represented the Trump Organization in previous lease obligation cases, Alan Garten, the company's general counsel, told The National Law Journal on Tuesday.

Woods (left) filed suit for the Trump Old Post Office LLC last week against Andrés and on Monday against Zakarian. The complaints allege breach of contract over deals to establish two restaurants in Trump's downtown hotel. “There's nothing in the lease that gives them the right to walk to away from their obligations,” Garten said.
