A strong job market, growth in life sciences and technology, and out-of-state work have put Indianapolis law firms in a good spot.

Indiana has become more tech-savvy and service-oriented amid manufacturing and steel declines and attacks on the use of coal, one of the state's key natural resources, said Melissa Proffitt (left), the Indianapolis managing partner of Ice Miller, which is also based in that city.

“We've done incredibly well reacting and responding, which has real positive implications for the legal industry,” Proffitt said.
