The exiting president and general manager of the Washington Post will find his next job at Georgetown University Law Center. Stephen Hills will become director of its new Business Skills program, the law school announced Tuesday.

Hills also will be a visiting professor focused on teaching law students business management skills. In addition to offering classes, he'll also develop a “mini MBA” course and chart a business skills curriculum for law students, a statement said. Hills does not have a J.D., according to the university statement, but does hold an MBA from Harvard Business School. The program creates a vehicle that will help Georgetown law students focus on the business of law, a growing area of importance as large corporate defense firms suffer from more competition, stagnant revenue and changing profit models. Two years ago, Georgetown offered upper-class law students a five-day boot camp in finance. “I love to build things,” Hills (left) said, in the statement. “We were able to create historic success at the Post, and that all started with a storied brand and a legacy of excellence. I am excited to be working with another storied brand in Georgetown Law, to build a program that will help create stronger business leaders in the future.”Earlier Tuesday, the newspaper's publisher and chief executive, Frederick Ryan Jr., told employees Hills would step down.Hills, 56, worked at the Post for 28 years. Since 2002, he had been president and general manager of the Post, and, subsequently, of Washington Post Media. The change in leadership comes about two years into Amazon.com founder Jeffrey Bezos' ownership of the newspaper. The Post will not hire a replacement for Hills' position, according to several reports on his departure.
