A law professor who first found fame as an original member of the band Sha Na Na has died.

Frederick “Dennis” Greene, a professor at the University of Dayton School of Law, died on Sept. 5 after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer just weeks earlier. He was 66.

He was a founding member of Sha Na Na, the 1950's-inspired rock band that played Woodstock immediately before Jimi Hendrix' iconic performance there in 1969.
