A federal judge in Nevada has dismissed a lawsuit against the Florida Costal School of Law brought by a prospective student who claims he was wrongfully denied admission to the school due to a botched exam.

Judge Gloria Navarro of the U.S. District Court of the District of Nevada ruled that plaintiff Barry Michaels, who is 74 and represented himself in the case, did not offer any evidence that he suffered damages in excess of $75,000—the minimum for the court to exercise jurisdiction. Navarro, in her Sept. 11 ruling, did not take up Michaels’ claim that the law school in Jacksonville, Florida, incorrectly administered an exam that would have enabled him to enroll.
