Hollywood attorney Ken Ziffren has given University of California at Los Angeles School of Law $5 million to set up an entertainment and media law center in his name, the school announced on Monday.

With the Ziffren Center for Media, Entertainment, Technology and Sports Law, the school aims to further enhance its position as a hub for the industry's future power lawyers and legal innovators.

The center's executive director, Susan Akens, oversaw international business affairs at Paramount and then CBS Studios before coming to UCLA Law in July to head the school's Entertainment, Media, and Intellectual Property Law Program. She said the center will expand the school's curriculum, will provide hands-on training and industry conferences, and will support research.
