President Donald Trump’s administration is facing a new lawsuit, this time from 10 states and New York City that claim the Department of Energy is illegally blocking or delaying a series of environmental regulations meant to improve energy efficiency and curb pollution.

The states claim the administration is delaying the effective date of final energy efficiency standards for ceiling fans, and stalling the final standards for compressors, walk-in coolers and freezers, power supply equipment, portable air conditioners and commercial boilers by failing to publish them in the Federal Register. The states claim these delays violate the federal Energy Policy and Conservation Act and the Administrative Procedures Act.
