A conservative group is flooding inboxes of judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit urging them to support President Donald Trump's travel ban, a tactic that's raising some eyebrows while potentially ticking off the bench.

The Florida Family Association claims it has sent thousands of emails to each judge urging them to overturn a U.S. district court decision in Maryland that implemented the injunction. On Wednesday, the Fourth Circuit clerk filed a rare notice alerting the attorneys that judges are receiving emails from outside parties.

The Fourth Circuit is currently mulling whether to consider the travel ban case en banc — oral arguments are scheduled for May 8.
