With its latest addition of Kara Brockmeyer, the law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton seems to be cornering the market on former chiefs from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Brockmeyer, former chief of the SEC Enforcement Division's Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Unit, announced her departure last month. Debevoise said Monday that she is joining its Washington, D.C., office as a partner and member of the white-collar and regulatory defense and the strategic crisis response and solutions groups.

At Debevoise, Brockmeyer joins her former bosses—Mary Jo White, ex-chair of the SEC and now head of Debevoise's crisis response group, and Andrew Ceresney, former director of the SEC Enforcement Division and now co-chair of the firm's litigation department.
