President Donald Trump announced his first wave of U.S. attorney nominees Monday, including a former Morrison & Foerster partner to lead the D.C. office.

In its announcement, the White House said the nominees “share the president's vision for 'Making America Safe Again.'” Trump's Department of Justice spurred confusion and criticism in March when Attorney General Jeff Sessions asked 46 Obama-era U.S. attorneys to resign immediately.

Monday's list of candidates includes Jessie Liu to lead the largest U.S. attorney's office in the District of Columbia. Other nominees include offices in Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio and Utah.

Liu is currently the deputy general counsel for the Treasury Department. An alum of Morrison & Foerster as well as Jenner & Block, she also served on Trump's DOJ transition team earlier this year. If confirmed, Liu will be making a return trip to the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C. She served as an assistant U.S. attorney there from 2002 to 2006, according to her LinkedIn page.

Liu is a graduate of Harvard University and Yale Law School, and clerked for Judge Carolyn Dineen King of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
