Michael Liftik, senior legal adviser to former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission chairwoman Mary Jo White, has joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP as a partner in Washington, D.C.
Liftik focuses on government and internal investigations, regulatory enforcement defense, securities litigation and cybersecurity.
As the SEC's deputy chief of staff under White, who re-joined Debevoise & Plimpton in February, Liftik advised her on all aspects of the SEC's operations, including enforcement, regulatory policy, compliance exams, agency strategy and direction, as well as the day-to-day management of the agency.
