Jack Quinn, the legendary Washington lobbyist and former counsel to Vice President Al Gore and President Bill Clinton, is diving back into Big Law.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips announced Tuesday that Quinn is now a partner at the firm and will chair its federal regulatory and government practice in the capital.

The 67-year-old lawyer leaves behind the bipartisan lobbying and public affairs company he co-founded in 2000, QGA Public Affairs (formerly Quinn Gillespie & Associates). The lobbying company, owned by British advertising firm WPP, essentially shut down earlier this year.
