Rupert Murdoch and 21st Century Fox are “fit and proper” bidders to take over the United Kingdom's Sky Broadcasting, U.K. regulators say, but another ruling on that front may have left the Murdoch and Fox fit to be tied.

British authorities have asked for another six months to determine whether Fox's $15.4 billion bid to acquire the 61 percent of Sky that it doesn't own would compromise quality in the U.K.

“The transaction may increase members of the Murdoch Family Trust's ability to influence the overall news agenda and their ability to influence the political process,” Culture Minister Karen Bradley said in a statement Thursday.
