Energy Trio Helps McCarter & English Expand in DC
The firm has brought on Allen O'Neil, Christine Ryan and Emily Streett as partners in Washington, D.C., from Holland & Knight, where the trio joined the latter three years ago in a mass lateral move from now-defunct boutique Brickfield, Burchette, Ritts & Stone.

McCarter & English has picked up Holland & Knight energy partners Allen O'Neil, Christine Ryan and Emily Streett in Washington, D.C., from Holland & Knight.
The lateral trio joined Holland & Knight three years ago in an 11-lawyer move from boutique Brickfield, Burchette, Ritts & Stone. McCarter & English's own office in the nation's capital was established in early 2014 after the firm absorbed 14-lawyer energy boutique Miller, Balis & O'Neil.
“We really felt that McCarter & English presented us with a really unique opportunity to join forces and work with some of best public power attorneys here in Washington,” said Ryan about her new firm, which saw its gross revenue rise in 2016.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
