Count 'em: No fewer than 20 government lawyers have joined large corporate law firms in Washington, D.C., since Sept. 1.

I'll run through a brief summary. Hogan Lovells got former Federal Trade Commission chair Edith Ramirez. Willkie Farr & Gallagher picked up former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission chair Norman Bay, and also added former Treasury Department acting general counsel Priya Aiyar. Clifford Chance hired former Commerce Department deputy general counsel Joshua Berman. Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr signed top Interior Department and CIA officials Michael Connor and David Cohen. Jones Day enticed Benjamin Mizer, Obama's last acting head of the Justice Department's civil division, to the firm. There were others.
