Michael Best Strategies, a lobbying company partly owned by law firm Michael Best & Friedrich, added a longtime tax policy specialist this week in an effective acquisition of Washington’s Canfield & Associates. The combination brings aboard one new lobbyist, Anne Canfield, who founded Canfield & Associates in 1996.

Canfield’s move reunites her with lobbyist Denise Bode, who joined Michael Best Strategies as a partner in January after running the American Wind Energy Association. Bode and Canfield’s friendship dates back to the early 1980s, when each worked for opposite sides of the Senate Finance Committee on tax reform packages. Bode worked for a Democrat and Canfield, a Republican.
