U.S. Supreme Court correspondent Tony Mauro catches up with Sidley Austin partner Carter Phillips, who's argued more cases at the U.S. Supreme Court than any lawyer in private practice today. Until recently, Phillips served as chairman of the executive committee. “I am very happy to be back just practicing law,” Phillips says. Even as chair, Phillips still argued in the Supreme Court, and his hope is to return to the high court and the circuits even more.
Phillips is set to argue Tuesday at the Supreme Court in a closely watched antitrust price-fixing case—brought by U.S. purchasers of Vitamin C against Chinese manufacturers of Vitamin C. Phillips will advocate for the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, participating as an amicus in support of Hebei Welcome Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.
Watch the video above for more insight about the case and what's on Phillips's plate these days.
