An O'Melveny & Myers partner is representing President Donald Trump's inaugural committee, as it faces legal scrutiny from federal prosecutors in New York.

K. Lee Blalack II, the firm's regional head of litigation for Washington, D.C., is representing the group, a representative for the presidential inaugural committee said Monday.

Blalack did not immediately return a request for comment, and a firm spokesman could not immediately confirm the firm's involvement Monday night.

The news comes as the committee faces a sweeping demand by prosecutors to turn over documents about its donors, vendors, and finances. The committee's representative confirmed on Monday the receipt of a subpoena, which was first reported by ABC News.

“While we are still reviewing the subpoena, it is our intention to cooperate with the inquiry,” the representative said.

Manhattan prosecutors are reportedly investigating whether the inaugural committee misspent some of its funds for Trump's 2017 inauguration, the Wall Street Journal reported in December. The committee in 2017 raised more than $107 million in donations. The committee at the time was headed by Thomas Barrack, a real estate developer and Trump's friend.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York declined to comment on reports the office issued the subpoenas.

This would not be the first time O'Melveny has stepped up to represent Trump or his interests. Firm partner Daniel Petrocelli defended Trump in a lawsuit related to Trump University.
