Milbank announced Wednesday it is adding partner Patrick Campbell to its transportation and space group in Washington, D.C.

Campbell was head of the communications and technology practice at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where he practiced for well over two decades, according to his LinkedIn page.

Milbank chairman Scott Edelman said in a statement that he is pleased to welcome "an accomplished attorney with extensive industry knowledge" to the firm's ranks.

"Patrick is well-respected for his ability to navigate the communications and technology sectors' complex commercial and regulatory environment, and his expertise will complement our world-renowned space and satellite business representations," Edelman said in the statement.

Campbell's work has often focused on transactional, corporate and regulatory matters, and his clients include telecommunications, satellite, media and Internet companies.

"Milbank has advised on landmark transactions for foreign and domestic telecom, connectivity, remote sensing and space infrastructure companies, their suppliers, customers and investors," Campbell said in a statement. "The opportunity to strengthen the firm's leading practice and expand its D.C. office is exciting, and I look forward to contributing to the firm's ongoing success."

In addition to his work in Big Law, Campbell is also active in the Washington, D.C., community and has placed a special emphasis on working with nonprofits focused on urban affairs and civil rights. He is listed on the board of directors for Street Law Inc., and has previously credited that program with paving his own path to success in the legal profession.

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Campbell is also a Georgetown University alumnus, Stanford Law graduate, and former law clerk to Judge Judith Rogers on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

"We appreciate Patrick's contributions and wish him well on this next chapter of his career," Paul Weiss chairman Brad Karp said in a statement.
