Tell us about your biggest client wins this year. In 2019, Edelson secured a landmark jury verdict for consumers in a class action against ViSalus Inc., a multilevel marketing company for dietary supplements. The litigation stretches back to 2015, when Edelson filed a class action lawsuit under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act alleging that ViSalus made unauthorized telemarketing robocalls to consumers nationwide. At the conclusion of the three-day trial, the jury found unanimously in favor of the consumers, delivering a special verdict that tallied 1.85 million violations of the TCPA, equating to $925 million in statutory damages.

What's the best lesson you learned as a young lawyer? "Swing your swing." If you know who you are, you know your case, and you trust in your strategy, you will succeed.

What's been the most significant change in your practice area and how have you adjusted? Every several years there is a new frontal assault on class actions and consumer protection. However, things that are perceived by most as a setback are, in fact, opportunities if you are willing to find a new path.
