Tell us about your biggest client wins this year. After a three-week jury trial, the firm prevailed in holding Columbia University and one of its senior faculty members liable for retaliation against junior faculty member Enrichetta Ravina. The win—including the jury's $1.25 million verdict—heightened public awareness about workplace retaliation and spurred calls to action to implement stronger protections for individuals who report discrimination and retaliation. Sanford Heisler Sharp also obtained one of the largest Title IX settlements ever—totaling $4 million—for former San Diego State women's head basketball coach Beth Burns, after winning a four-week jury trial.

What's been the most significant change in your practice area and how have you adjusted? Gender discrimination has long been central to the firm's work, but since #MeToo, the firm has made sexual harassment an even bigger focus.

Share an interesting fact about your firm that few know. Attorneys can work from home once a week, and most do. Making flexibility the norm supports caregivers without stigmatizing them.
