Tell us about your biggest client wins this year. [The] firm was lead counsel in a series of class actions against the credit reporting agencies to address problems with the ways that public records like court judgments and tax liens were reported within consumer credit reports. In a surprisingly large number of instances, people would pay their judgment or tax lien but the credit reporting agencies would not update the credit reports to show that it was paid, sometimes even after disputes were made. Following our cases, these public records no longer appear within credit reports and a mediation process has been set up to compensate those who were damaged by the false reporting.

What's the best lesson you learned as a young lawyer? Take good care of your staff, and they will take even better care of your clients.

What's been the most significant change in your practice area and how have you adjusted? [The firm is] fortunate enough to practice in the Fourth Circuit where there haven't been any significant shifts in the law in the past 20 years.

Share an interesting fact about your firm that few know. We transitioned from being a Windows-based firm to running almost entirely on Macs back in 2005.
