Tell us about your biggest client wins this year. Flint Water Crisis Litigation (MIED): In April 2019, the Court reinstated Gov. Rick Snyder as a defendant in the litigation, after having dismissed plaintiffs' allegations that he was personally liable for his involvement in the Flint water crisis in August 2018. Plaintiffs introduced new evidence, including emails, demonstrating personal liability.

Cape Fear River Water Contamination Litigation (NCED): In April 2019, the court largely denied defendants' motion to dismiss, allowing the bulk of plaintiffs and holding that plaintiffs may seek damages for future medical expenses.

What's the best lesson you learned as a young lawyer? Remain passionate, be persistent, be a good chess player, and, most importantly, be professional.

What's been the most significant change in your practice area and how have you adjusted? Given that the administration is deregulating environmental protections, environmental tort litigation is even more critical in the fight for justice.
