In the 2020 NLJ 500, our survey of the nation's largest law firms, our team of reporters and editors present a story of steady growth in 2019, with head count increasing by the same percentage it did in 2018. But that was all before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today at 2 p.m., a team of reporters and editors will gather virtually to discuss the big trends impacting the nation's largest law firms. How did firms go from steady growth in 2019 to grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020? And with respect to gender diversity, what are the leading firms doing to get to the top of the list, leading with both women partners overall and minority women partners?

Our group of panelists includes business of law reporters David Thomas, Patrick Smith, Samantha Stokes and Dan Packel, who reported this year's package, and NLJ managing editor Sarah Tincher, who helped see the project to fruition.
