Describe your biggest win or accomplishment in practice.  Winning summary judgment in Gubarev v. BuzzFeed. This case was closely watched and for good reason: not only did it involve a newsworthy subject (the Trump dossier), it raised critical issues about reporter's privilege. At a time when journalism is under sustained attack, the outcome here was extremely important.

What was the most valuable lesson you learned in your first year practicing law? I learned the importance, in complex litigation, of developing your order of proof and the structure of your case narrative in as much detail as possible early on, and then keeping that front and center through discovery and trial. I draw on that technique today when managing my own cases.

Who is your greatest lawyer mentor and what has he or she taught you?  My colleagues Liz McNamara and Laura Handman, who are both among the country's top media and First Amendment lawyers. Together, they've modeled how to build strong personal relationships with clients, advocate with a clear voice, and lead teams that support each other while managing to have fun in the litigation trenches.

Please share a brief key to your success.  I don't just focus on the task in front of me. I spend time getting to know my clients—how they assess risk, their public persona, core issues and challenges, tools and technologies they're adopting. All of this helps me provide tailored advice, in my client's language. They appreciate that.
