Describe your biggest win or accomplishment in practice. I represented long-time client Dividend Finance through the first-ever combination of a residential solar lender and PACE financing provider. Today, the company is a leading national provider of renewable energy and energy-efficiency financing solutions allowing homeowners to realize the economic and environmental benefits of "going green."

What was the most valuable lesson you learned in your first year practicing law? I learned how junior lawyers can influence lives when helping an Alaska credit union secure [Troubled Asset Relief Program/Community Development Capital Initiative] funds to support its disadvantaged community during the Great Recession. I framed a client note thanking me for helping their community – a constant reminder that what we do as lawyers makes an impact.

Who is your greatest lawyer mentor and what has he or she taught you? Chris Groobey, a retired partner formerly of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, is an incredible lawyer, mentor and friend. Chris taught me to always think about "what's around the corner" during a negotiation. He also reminded me that a bruised ego and successful closing is far better than a busted deal.

Please share a brief key to your success. Sounds simple enough, but I treat my clients like I want to be treated and remember not to treat every engagement as exclusively work-driven. I get to know my clients on both a personal and professional level, which has resulted in long-term business relationships and meaningful personal connections.
