Tell us about your top U.S. Supreme Court or federal appeals court victory over the past year and how you and your team achieved the win.

In Fort Bend County, Texas v. Davis, our client Lois Davis was denied time off by her employer to attend church and later fired when she failed to report to work on a Sunday morning. The unanimous U.S. Supreme Court opinion authored by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg upheld a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit opinion and remanded the case, resolving important questions about how employment discrimination cases are brought under federal law. On remand, we obtained a jury verdict for Davis and a final judgment of damages and attorney fees totaling $1.5 million. Our team included R. Russell Hollenbeck (trial lead), Raffi Melkonian (argued at the Supreme Court) and Tom Wright.
