Department of Justice employees are alleging political leaders violated federal law and abused their authority in implementing President Donald Trump’s executive order against diversity and inclusion training, and are calling for federal investigations into the matter.

In a whistleblower letter, sent Tuesday to the DOJ’s Office of Inspector General, the Office of Special Counsel and Congress by the Government Accountability Project, the employees allege “recent acts constituting violations of law, abuse of authority, gross mismanagement and gross waste of funds by executive branch political leadership in ending long-standing federal diversity and inclusion programs.” The employees state they are members of DOJ affinity and employee resource groups who want to stay anonymous.
