A Yale Law School professor who is a prominent national authority on matters of health care and the law was named special counsel Friday as part of the Biden administration's coronavirus response effort. The post will be within the White House counsel's office.

Abbe Gluck, the new appointee, is the founding faculty director of the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School, and she is a professor of medicine at the university's medical school. Gluck, a former law clerk to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, has been helping the Biden transition's COVID-19 team.
