The state of Missouri must pay $1.4 million in legal fees as part of a settlement in a voter registration lawsuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit ruled Monday.

The award includes around $353,000 for Covington & Burling; $211,900 for the American Civil Liberties Union; 446,600 to think tank Dēmos and $131,200 to the Advancement Project.
