Covington & Burling’s public policy practice has added another name to its growing roster of government talent, with former Senate Judiciary Committee general counsel Nick Xenakis joining the firm this week in Washington, D.C.

Xenakis served as counsel, senior counsel and then GC of the Judiciary Committee from July 2017 to January 2021, during which time he directed legislative efforts on issues ranging from criminal justice and immigration, to antitrust and intellectual property. He also advised the committee on judicial and cabinet nominations, COVID-19 relief packages, oversight matters, and the National Defense Authorization Act.
