A team from Latham & Watkins is defending American Airlines against the U.S. Justice Department’s antitrust lawsuit seeking to block an alliance between American and JetBlue Airways.

Daniel Wall, a partner in Latham’s San Francisco office and a veteran of several high-profile antitrust battles, is seeking to appear for American Airlines in the suit, which was filed Tuesday in the District of Massachusetts. Latham partner David Tolley, the chair of the firm’s Boston litigation and trial department, has also filed a notice of appearance.
