The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday agreed to decide in the current term two challenges to Texas’s law banning abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy

The justices set an expedited briefing schedule and arguments Nov. 1 in the cases, United States v. Texas and Whole Woman’s Health v. Jackson. The justices delayed consideration of the federal government’s request to block enforcement of the Texas law pending oral argument.
