The Senate on Monday confirmed Lucy Koh to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, making her President Joe Biden’s first appointee to that court.

Koh has served on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California since 2010, when she was appointed by President Barack Obama. She was elevated to the appeals court on a 50-45 vote.
