Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, appearing virtually before an audience of corporate defense lawyers at a conference in Miami, warned white-collar prosecutors would no longer be deterred by a “fear of losing.”

Days later, Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler, speaking at an enforcement forum, said the commission will seek out “high-impact cases,” the kind that generate law firm client alerts and prompt compliance departments and lawyers to adjust their behavior.
