Two days before the anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, Rep. Ruben Gallego, a Democrat from Arizona, went on CNN to call Attorney General Merrick Garland “extremely weak” in his handling of the investigation.

Last month, former Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill used an appearance on MSNBC to lay out a hypothetical “opening statement” in a case against former President Donald Trump and declared that Garland would be remembered as “one of the worst attorney generals in this country’s history” if he didn’t hold Trump accountable.
