The only active Republican-appointed judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit will be taking senior status, according to a list of judicial vacancies updated by the Administrative Offices of the U.S. Courts.

Judge Jeffrey Howard, who became chief judge in 2015, notified the White House on Wednesday that he is taking semiretirement at the end of March, according to the AO.
