A federal appeals court ruled that the group Cowboys for Trump can’t sue New Mexico’s secretary of state over donor disclosure rules for political committees.

The panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, comprised of Judges Timothy Tymkovich, Gregory Phillips and Carolyn McHugh, held that the group, founded by Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin, hasn’t suffered any injury from a state law adopted in 2019 that requires political committees that make certain independent expenditures above a set amount, such as on advertisements, to share the names of donors who contributed over $5,000 within a year.
